Keeping with my ambitions, I am posting photos today of a walk I took on the 6th of this month. The images are from the area near my Flat in Mohandessin. Tuesday was a typical day in Egypt with 90F temperatures and not a cloud in the sky. It was however a Holiday here and I had the day off work. 6th of October commemorates the victories of Egypt against Israel in the Yom Kippur War of 1973. I understand very little about the history, but it I know it led to the recovery of the Suez Canal and Sinai Peninsula from Israel after the territories were lost in the war in 1967. It also led to a peace treaty and the official recognition of the State of Israel by Egypt.
